Hamburger Pie

Dinner last night was hamburger pie. My mom swears she got the recipe out of an old Betty Crocker cookbook, but I’ve never this one.  It’s good comfort food. I served it with braised baby spinach and a simple fruit salad. My mom and I thought it might be better with more of the soup and green bean filling next time (my mom thinks she has done this before but couldn’t remember). My brother Justin HATES this recipe, and we like to torment him by saying we’re going to make it when he visits. I have no idea what’s not to like about it though. It simple, delicious, comfort food. What’s better than that?

1 Onions chopped

1 lb ground beef

1 can green beans

mashes potatoes (5 med potatoes, 1/2 cup milks &1-2 beaten eggs)

Salt and pepper

Slightly brown onion in a small amount of oil. Add hamburger and brown. Add beans, soup, and place in a greased casserole dish. Place mashed potatoes on top. Bake 350 for 30-45 minutes.
