Old Fashioned Custard

Old Fashioned Custard

2 cups cream, half and half or milk

1/2 tsp nutmeg

1/2 tsp cinnamon

2 eggs plus to yolks

pinch of salt

1/2 cup sugar( I think personally I will try it with 1/3 cup next time but you can adjust to your sweet tooth.)

Heat the cream cinnamon and half the nutmeg until steaming in a small saucepan, heat some water in a kettle for a hot water bath and preheat the oven to 300. Beat the eggs yolks and sugar until a light yellow color. Add cream mixture a little at a time to the egg mixture stirring vigorously the whole time to keep eggs from scrambling. Pour into a large bowl or six 4 to 6 ounce custard cups. Put in a baking dish with a hot water bath. Bake until the mixture is not quite set. It should be a little wobbly when you take it out.
